The Playhouse is an authentic 1920s rustic log cabin, nestled amongst lush forest, ferns, lilies, green grasses and wildflowers, all bordering panoramic beachfront and sparkling blue ocean waters. Step back in time to this idyllic retreat. An expansive great room accommodates the entire family or group, complete with living area, dining area and ping pong table!! A massive stone fireplace is the focal point of the room, and can host a roaring fire, easily softening the crisp morning or evening air with its glowing warmth, and reaching high in to the vaulted, beamed ceiling where clerestory widows bring in the rising and setting sun. A simple, yet delightful kitchen is reminiscent of times past, with antique pie safe and old cabinets adding to its charm. |

Three bedrooms branch off the main living area. Two stem off to one side of the cabin, sharing a full bath with claw foot tub, with separate shower stall, while the master bedroom is privately situated on the other side of the house; also with its own private bath. Retreat to the back porch, and gaze out to nearby channel islands, and listen to the surf caress the beach directly in front of the cabin. Enjoy complete serenity and peace in this private, natural setting, with daily strolls around the surrounding property or through acres and acres of untouched forest.

A footbridge over a small brook guides you to a nearby “ocean water pool”, where nature, with a little help from man, creates a unique swimming area to be shared with nearby family properties. Incoming tides are captured by a retaining wall, leaving behind a cherished “pool” and safe haven for kids and adults alike to frolic in its sun-warmed waters. All beds are twin (two twins/bedroom) to provide versatile guests accommodations. Firewood included.

The property owners are a large family who also own 3 other nearby cottages (Kate’s House, The Boat House & The Carriage House) that, likewise, are available for rent. Guests of these other properties may also wish to utilize the “ocean water pool” or beach area, providing a wonderful opportunity to share in the peace and serenity of this incredible oceanfront property, while still maintaining your privacy back at The Playhouse.
